Tortoise Control
download and play (Zip file, extract and run "Tortoise Control.exe")
Description: Tortoise control is a 2d side-scrolling beat 'em up. Tortoise Control is the tale of a tortoise trying to find himself. Join Taj, your everyday karate-loving tortoise, on his adventure fighting Pygmys and a boss that looks like a scary version of the stay-puft marshmallow man. There's a story in here somewhere, but not all great games need a great storyline!
Concept: This basic side-scroller was built as part of the Games Design and Development concentration at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The game was built from start to finish in an 8 week period. This time frame also included time to test the game to the public, gather feedback and make revision as necessary. This was a group project consisting of 3 people, including myself. I took on the role of all the A.I. as well as the character's artwork and feel

Once the user has their desired items; they can finalize their car and then check out. All the pictures and data are imported using external files to help with individual load time on the images and data. This is to help not slow the user down by having them wait for the entire page.

Swarming Bees
Created:April 2006
Media: Director
Language: JavaScript
Concept: Intelligent AI scripting. All the 'bees' have the ability to stay a certain distance away from one another, follow the bee in front of them, avoid collision and ultimately flock together. There are sliders on the bottom to change how aware the bees are of their surroundings. The sliders are very sensitive and take the right combination to really get the bees smart and most aware. Play around and have fun!

Hex Online
Created:December 2004
Media: Director, Flash, FlashComm-Server
Language: JavaScript, ActionScript 2.0
Concept: An online turn-based player vs. player game complete with chat and rooms to host multiple games. The purpose of the game is to make a line from one end of the board to the other while trying to block your opponent from doing the same. A player can log in with any name they would like. Once they do this, the player is brought to four rooms that they can join or host a game. The game will check to see whose turn it is, and recursively check, at the end of each turn, to see if a player has won. At the end of the game, the players can rematch or go back to the main menu of rooms to find a new opponent. Since the flashComm server is no longer available the game will no longer work online. If you would like to view this game offline, please feel free to contact me.
